1. Move management counseling
Once a move has been assigned to a Customer Service Representative, they will input all pertinent information into our in-house database, and send a Pre-move package to the transferee containing all required documentation to process the move. Additionally, they will counsel the transferee through every step of the move process.

2. Pre-move survey at residence
Our Customer Service Representative will contact the transferee to schedule a day for one of our Shipment Analysts to survey the goods to be moved. The Customer Service Representative will also arrange for tentative pack dates.

Our Shipment Analyst will inform the transferee about Matrix's capabilities, discuss special packing needs, and advise them of various shipment options.

3. Shipment Coordination
Once the dedicated Customer Service Representative receives all the information from the Analyst, we will schedule a date to pack the transferee's belongings and arrange all necessary services to begin coordinating the actual move.

4. Export Packing
Matrix uses the highest quality packing materials for wrapping and packing a transferee's personal belongings. (Our packers receive training from the most experienced packing professionals within the industry).

We maintain a full-service carpentry shop, where our personnel can custom-design wooden containers to house valuable antiques and priceless collections.

5. Containerization
If steamship containerization is the desired method, household goods will be loaded into the container(s) at the transferee's residence. Please be advised that there are multiple factors that can determine the method of loading the containers at residence.

6. Warehousing
We have thousands of square feet of warehousing space where we carefully monitor the weighing, banding, and marking of all storage and shipping units. We also stock a complete selection of export packing material - bubble wrap, sponge wrap, kraft backed corrugated wrapping, boxes, etc. - to meet all your packing needs.

The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for informing the warehouse personnel of the transferee's pack date(s), finalizing pack date(s), dispatching the crew to pack personal effects, and arranging storage needs.

7. Inland Freight

Matrix will arrange for one of our certified drivers to ensure a prompt and safe delivery of the transferee's belongings to the selected port of embarkation.

8. Export/Import Documentation Processing

Matrix is a licensed international freight forwarder, and has the in-house expertise and capability to process all necessary documentation to manage an international move. The transferee is simply responsible for obtaining and updating their personal documents such as work visas, passports, permits and in-transit insurance. The Customer Service Representative, relocation manager or a consulate can provide a transferee with the information they need regarding documentation.

9. Ocean and Air Freight Forwarder
As a licensed air and ocean freight forwarder, Matrix Logistics, Inc. books and prepays all freight charges. Please note, many local moving companies subcontract this forwarding function, thereby transferring a key element of responsibility to third parties with added costs.

10. Customs Clearance at Destination
Matrix will procure the services of a destination agent who will make arrangements for Customs clearance and delivery the transferee's belonging to their new residence. This service does not include the pre-payment of taxes, bonds or Customs duties, unless the transferee has made prior arrangements with Matrix.

The Customer Service Representative is well versed in foreign Customs requirements, and can advise transferee of the items that may be subject to additional taxes and duties at the destination country. (Please note that some countries prohibit the entry of certain items).

    11. Delivery to Residence Once a shipment clears Customs, the destination agent will contact the transferee to arrange a delivery date. On the final day of delivery, the crew will remove and dispose of all packing debris from the transferee's residence.

    12. Web-Enabled Shipment Tracking & Real-Time Status Reports
The Customer Service Representative is responsible for tracking every phase of a transferee's shipment, and inputting the information into our in-house database tracking system. This information is available to clients, transferees and agents via the Internet.

    • The status information is accessible 24 hrs. a day / 7 days a week, and from anywhere in the world through www.matrix-intl.com.
    • Our website was designed to be user friendly, and to give the transferee, client and agent another value-added service.

    14. Transit Insurance
Matrix offers a full value replacement transit insurance policy, zero deductible, which covers pairs and sets. Matrix has appointed an in-house staff member to manage the insurance program, thus generating prompt settlements within the guidelines of the insurance policy resulting in greater client and customer satisfaction.
